Few decisions needed to be made before other decisions could be made.
For the imagery on the glasses/jars:
- Major Quotes (as seen on another post: "Spinning Yarns" for textiles or fashion students. "Couldn't Kern Less" for VCD students. "Tools Not Rules" for Industrial students.) Each design specified to someones major.
- All the Majors: VCD, Fine Arts, Fashion, Textiles, Industrial, Photography, Spatial, Media Production (level 100) ... ETC
- Expanding from this could be skill sets in between these majors such as; Type, screen, graphics, illustrations, painting, sculpture, ETC, ETC.
- Simplified pictures/symbols/patterns/Etc. none specified for anyone particular but the images as a general could be suitable for all (or almost all).
- Optical Illusions though the glass. looking at the glass from one side and seeing a message or a image but then not being able to see it from another angle. Creating each design for all the different jars and also creating the angle of the optical illusion would have a lot of prototyping.
What kind of glass vessel could be used? (already have 25 milk bottle shaped jars)
- Just milk bottle shaped jars? with 25 already (along with their lids) could buy more off of TradeMe, 15 for $13 (with lids) can also buy more from the same seller.
- Buying drinking glasses/cups/beer mugs/etc from op-shops and secondhand shops around Wellington. Keeps along with the theme/idea of being a sustainable market place using secondhand objects and up-cycling them.
Along with all these decisions made it was clear that having a beverage along side the jar was to much for our stall and would be better off sticking to manufacturing the jars and bags instead.
Having a tag or paper for the receiver to read after the market to find out how the etching on the glass was creating AND how we decided to disperse the jars to people with different majors. Would also continue the experience after the market and create a thought provoking discussion between pairs.
